Enterprise Ultrastar DC HC330 series drives are at home in distributed file systems such as Apache Hadoop for Big Data analytics, rackmount RAID and storage enclosures, server-based distributed storage, and in the DAS and NAS. A two-stage microactuator improves head positioning accuracy and provides higher drive performance. The increased write performance over the previous 10TB was realized through an improved media cache architecture that combines flash-based DRAM cache and disk-based caching technology. The Ultrastar DC HC330 series operates at spindle speeds of 7,200 rpm and is offered here with 12 Gbps SAS interface.
