Broadcom developed the Emulex Gen7 (64/32G) Fibre Channel (FC) host bus adapters (HBAs) to meet the demanding requirements of modern networked storage systems. These require high performance, low latency SSD storage drives and hard disk arrays. Emulex HBAs deliver high performance, low latency, enhanced diagnostics and excellent manageability over Fibre Channel, the gold standard for networked storage connectivity in enterprise and cloud deployments. Its unique dynamic multi-core architecture works particularly efficiently by applying ASIC resources to the port that needs them. With a read speed of 12,800 MB/s (full-duplex data rate per port), very low latency and an industry-leading performance of 10 million IOPS per adapter, the Broadcom adapters are significantly better than the competition. The adapters are designed for NVMe over Fabrics and can also handle this in combination with SCSI.
